The regular rate of 18.99% always applies to purchases and funds advances and also applies to balance transfers when you do not qualify for the balance transfer rate during the first 6 months of Card membership.*

American Express Assured Reservations
Regardless of how late you arrive, your room will be waiting for you. Your room will be held until check-out time the day following your scheduled arrival or comparable accommodation will be provided at no charge. When making reservations at participating hotels or motels, request an American Express Assured Reservation and be sure to ask for a confirmation number. To cancel an Assured Reservation, call the hotel or motel before the time specified by the property to avoid being billed for the first night's stay. Be sure to obtain and keep your cancellation number.

Travel Accident Insurance †*
Automatic coverage of up to $100,000 worth of Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance when you charge your common carrier (plane, train, ship or bus) tickets to your Card. Use the Card to book tickets for your spouse, dependant children (under 23) or any Supplementary Cardmember and they will also be covered. Spouse and dependant children (under 23) of Supplementary Cardmembers are also covered.

Optional Services

American Express Balance Payment Insurance †*
Ensures monthly payments are made to your account if you involuntarily lose your job or become disabled. Payments are based on the amount owing on your account at the time you became unemployed or disabled. Payments will continue until 24 consecutive payments are made or you return to work or are no longer disabled or the outstanding balance is paid, or the maximum of $10,000 has been paid. Should you die or become dismembered, this coverage would pay off the total outstanding balance of your account up to a maximum of $10,000. Once you enroll, a charge of $0.89 per $100 outstanding balance will be conveniently billed to your account for this coverage. You will also receive a Certificate of Insurance which will contain complete details of the coverage.

Automatic Flight Insurance †*
Once enrolled with Automatic Flight Insurance, receive up to $1,500,000 of Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance every time you fly and charge your scheduled airline ticket to your enrolled Card account. You only pay the premium when you charge a scheduled airline ticket of a Covered Person to your enrolled account. If travelling with a Covered Person, charge tickets separately from your own and each will also be covered for the full benefit amount.
