What do I get?
You will start your Graduate Programme in one of the American Express business groups in September 2008.
Experience:
You could be involved in cutting edge projects which redefines the way we conduct business and provides additional value to our customers or merchants. Whatever you undertake you will gain unrivalled experience of our organisation. Read the section on 'What will I be Doing' to understand more about the previous graduates experiences.
Development and Training:
Our Training Programmes are designed not only to develop your business skills but to facilitate your integration into our culture. From the moment you embark upon the programme, we are committed to providing you with the opportunity to succeed. You will attend an in-depth induction which will give you a greater understanding of our business and culture. In addition to this a mixture of developmental and bespoke courses are offered in-house, together with on-the-job learning that will equip you with the skills and experience you need to be successful in our business.
Based in one of our different business Groups, you will follow a structured programme of 2 or 3 rotations around American Express which will increase your understanding of the organisation.
Upon joining the organisation, in addition to being supported by your Manager you will be provided with both a Graduate buddy, and a mentor who will act as an independent advisor and confidant to advise you on your career and development.
Salary and Benefits:
Full time salary of £23,500

- What training opportunities does American Express offer?
Everyone undertakes an initial intensive induction course to introduce you to the many aspects of the business. Some of your training will be ‘on the job’ however in addition to this we have a structured training programme which will be critical to your success. Throughout the programme we also offer business seminars with Senior Business Leaders.
- How will American Express support my career development?
Upon starting the programme you will be assigned a Manager, Mentor and a Buddy. In addition to this the Graduate Programme Manager will support both you and your Manager throughout the programme. Why not look at the graduate profiles to find out how current graduates careers have progressed.
