What is RSS?
RSS stands for: Really Simple Syndication. RSS is a method to easily deliver digital content to your desktop. Subscribers to an RSS feed (described below) receive content in the form of a headline and a summary or preview.
What is an RSS feed?
An RSS feed is the information that is received by the subscriber. People subscribe to RSS feeds using an RSS reader (described below). The content in an RSS feed consists of a headline, description and/or a link to an article on a webpage.
What is an article?
Articles are individual pieces of content that are sent to the subscriber through the RSS feed. When you subscribe to an RSS feed, you receive the summary, preview or headline which links to the complete article on the original website.
How do I obtain the content through RSS?
RSS content is received and viewed through RSS readers, news aggregators and some internet browsers. These readers search out the content and American Express RSS feeds that you have subscribed to, making it easy for you to quickly scan content contained within each feed.
Examples:
  • Web-based Reader: My Yahoo!
  • News Aggregators: Bloglines.com, Feedreader.com, newsgator
  • Browser: Mozilla Firefox

If I click on an offer in an article in my RSS feed, where will the link take me?
When you click on an offer it will take you to the American Express website for more information.
My feeds are not being updated, what is wrong?
Feeds will be updated with new information as it becomes available. If your reader permits, please look at the feed headline to find out when the last update was made. Also, if you do not see the feed added to your RSS reader (usually appears at the bottom in My Yahoo!) or the feed is not updated, please visit our registration page again to update the feed.
How do I decide on which reader/aggregator/browser to use for RSS?
RSS readers and news aggregators will display feed content for you. As a user, there are several different choices that you have. These readers and news aggregators are free and signing up to receive your feeds is easy. Some services will let you add RSS feeds to a personalized web page, such as My Yahoo!.

The process to use My Yahoo! is easy. First, select a topic on our RSS registration page, and then select My Yahoo! as your reader and click "Continue." If you don't have an existing account, you'll be able to create a free account when you click "Continue."
