  We do look for candidates who would thrive in a commercial environment and therefore any experience you have may be relevant. As we are a global Company a language could also be useful.

• How important is previous work experience?
  
  All work experience is valuable. It is important that you tell us about any experience in your application.

• How important is my degree result?
  
  Important.

• What are the opportunities for advancement at American Express?
  
  After the programme Graduates will be placed in the business. There are many opportunities to advance within the company across a diverse range of careers but progression will be subject to performance and opportunity.
  
  

• I haven't gotten my degree result yet, can I still apply?
  
  Yes, you can still apply but the job offer will be subject to you obtaining a 2.1 or above(or equivalent).

• Is evidence of responsibility important?
  
  Yes. We look for candidates who demonstrate a combination of academic aptitude, and those who have taken up activities outside of their sphere of studies. Those of you who have broadened your horizons, this could be in the form of work, university/college position of responsibility, extra curricular activities, voluntary work or achievements.
  
  

• Why do you not accept applications from graduates who require a work permit?
  
  Due to current work permit guidelines, we cannot accept applications from graduates who require a work permit to work in the UK.
